We all love our doubleknit jersey fabrics, especially between seasons as they’re so versatile. However they can vary enormously, as we’ve explained on previous occasions. Consequently, we’re reluctant to lump them together and simply cite different colours unless they’re very similar cloths. Our deep teal green ponte Roma jersey fabric is a medium-weight ponte Roma with a smooth handle and an elegant drape as you can see from this video.
We’re making it clear that in the world of ‘teal’ our deep teal green ponte Roma jersey fabric stands firmly in the green camp, rather than the blue. Yes it definitely has some blue in it – which prevents it from heading into bottle-green territory. However it’s very definitely not the shade of teal that leans towards kingfisher blue. It’s a very deep marine shade of teal green – and as ever, please just ask us for a free sample if you need to check your colours.
We think our deep teal green ponte Roma jersey fabric will find a favourite place in many a wardrobe. It has a good spring-back from its spandex content which is largely across the width of the fabric. It holds its shape well. Skirts, dresses and draping layers are all possibilities, as well as tops, tunics, wraps and loungewear. We also think it might be up for a spot of legging as well as layering, if you’re that way inclined.
There are lots of patterns available for working with ponte Roma jersey fabrics. They’ll either suggest ponte Roma jersey fabric – or a ‘medium-weight doubleknit fabric with a little stretch’ for instance. You could try Tilly and the Buttons’ ‘Coco’ pattern for starters:
