Whatever your colour preferences, you’ll find something to please you in this purple, gold and pink viscose challis fabric. Printed in an outrageous extrapolation of a paisley pattern, this is a fabric that looks as if someone’s been having fun with the colouring crayons. And yet, it works. Probably because the myriad of colours are all of a similar tone – vibrant colours but not too intense.
What kind of fabric is this?
This is is a lovely-quality, medium-to-lighter weight viscose fabric. It’s been woven in a plain weave pattern. The print design is a delicate one, in which the coloured paisley-esque design is outlined by delicate charcoal lines.
What does this fabric feel like?
Our gold and pink viscose challis fabric has a particularly smooth handle. It will be cool and very comfortable next to the skin.
How does this fabric move?
Use it on the cross or hang it straight – this is a fabric that loves to flow and ripple. You can see how our delicately-printed gold and pink viscose challis fabric moves and drapes in this video.
NOTE: Our videos are intended to show the movement of a fabric. For accurate colour and pattern detail, please refer to our still images.
Will I need to line this fabric?
The weave of this fabric is plain and fairly close, with good opacity due to the print design. You’ll be just fine with an unlined blouse or tunic and for less formal, more carefree occasions an unlined dress or skirt in this fabric will be perfectly acceptable, especially in draped designs. However a silhouette may be visible against the sun and so depending the design of a dress or skirt, a plain cotton lawn lining or a half-slip might be advisable.
What can I make with this fabric?
We think our rippling gold and pink challis fabric will be perfect for summer tops and blouses, warmer-weather dresses and tunics. If you’re looking for a simple summer top to make the most of this design, we think the ever-popular ‘Ogden Cami’ from True / Bias would be the perfect cool summer option.
