Rippling, layered, longer-length dresses and elegant draping blouses continue to be very much a part of current collections. They cross seasons; cool and wafting in the warmer months, perfect for layering in colder weather. Draping, breathable fabrics like this delightfully-autumnal black, rust and pink viscose crepe fabric are immensely versatile. We love the subtle colour combinations in this fabric.
What kind of fabric is this?
Our black, ochre and pink floral viscose crepe fabric is a 100% viscose cloth. Closely-woven with the finely-textured surface you’d expect in a crepe, we’d describe it as a light-to-medium-weight dress fabric.
What does this fabric feel like?
This fabric has a slightly rippled surface texture but is very soft to the touch. It’s breathable so a good option for warmer days; it’s also very gentle next to the skin.
How does this fabric move?
This rust, ochre and pink floral viscose crepe fabric has a wonderful swing and drape. You’ll need to take care to lay it out and pin carefully when working with it. A length of it will move with life and elegance as you can see in this video.
NOTE: Our videos are intended to show the movement of a fabric. For accurate colour and pattern detail, please refer to our still images.
Will I need to line this fabric?
Our autumnal pink floral viscose crepe fabric has very good opacity for its weight; the depth of colour also helps. A top, blouse or tunic won’t need lining. You might choose to line, layer or wear a half-slip under a skirt or dress if you’re wearing it over hosiery simply to aid movement and add a little structure.
What can I make with this fabric?
Tops, blouses and dresses are all options for this fabric. Draping, less structured designs are always going to be its forte. The ‘Madrid’ Dress and Tunic from Coffee and Thread Patterns is a versatile pattern with lots of length options – all perfect for the drape and weight of this lovely viscose crepe.
