Our triple crepe fabrics have long been at the heart of ClothSpot’s offering, as well as a staple feature of our respective wardrobes. This glowing chartreuse green stretch triple crepe fabric is a stretch version of the same fabric – one of a number we’ll be stocking up on.
Our new chartreuse green stretch triple crepe fabric is a bit of a revelation. It’s a fabulous quality fabric with excellent substance. With a visible crepe texture, it nevertheless has a smooth handle and a delectable drape as you can see from this video.
We’d describe our chartreuse green stretch triple crepe fabric as either a medium-weight suiting fabric or a heavier-weight dress fabric. Although there’s a little stretch across the width and down the length of the fabric, most of its ease is across the bias of the fabric. We think it’s really quite an extraordinary cloth – it holds a graceful fold and is all but opaque. You could choose to line it for even more substance but we’re planning to try it as a dress without a lining as we think it has the capacity to create a smooth line.
Our chartreuse green stretch triple crepe fabric is a bit of a gift for dresses with drape, coat-dresses, elegant jackets, skirts and trousers alike. If you’ve a special occasion then this will be a delicious fabric to dress up, in the knowledge that you can keep it as for classic ‘best’ dressing – or decide to get your wear out of it through the season.
It is primarily a polyester cloth – but with that comes washability (although not necessarily if you’ve lined it!), crease-resistance and durability. We have yet to work with them and suspect they’ll require a good sharp needle, however we don’t anticipate any trouble.
We think this chartreuse green stretch triple crepe fabric would be wonderful either for a sculpted dress such as the ‘Renae’ Woven Dress from Style Arc patterns or equally, a more straightforward ‘fit and flare’ such such as the Francoise dress from Tilly and the Buttons.
