We wouldn’t be without our linings. We see them as a way to bring a garment to life and set it aside from the mainstream. We love viscose twills in particular for for their classic styling, smooth, crisp handle, shimmering finishes and vibrant colours. You can carefully tailor a classic jacket to meet all sorts of formal constraints but then fit a thoroughly anarchic or flamboyant lining just to celebrate being you. Which we suggest you do, at all opportunities. Our pale ecru viscose lining fabric is the latest addition to our range of viscose linings which bring breatheability as well as style to your garments.
This is a restrained, neutral yet very elegant lining with a beautifully-lustrous finish and a smooth handle. The colour is a deceptive one due to the different yarn colours used in the weave. Depending on the light and accompanying fabrics it will appear as anything from gold to a neutral buff.
This pale ecru viscose lining fabric is a medium-weight lining, appropriate for skirts, dresses, half-lined trousers and lighter-weight jackets. It would also be a beautiful lining option for lighter-to-medium weight coats. If you’re in any doubt about the suitability of this lining for your garment then as always, just drop us a line to discuss or to ask for a free sample. With a fine twill weave, the soft, pale almost-gold colour is a lovely complement for vibrant blues, purples and reds as well as pastels and neutral shades.
We recommend washing this fabric at 30 or 40 degrees but if used to line a garment, it should be dry- or spot-cleaned since the outer garment fabric may respond differently to washing. See our Fabric care pages for more information.
