For all that this soft bronze stretch cotton sateen fabric has the look and lustre of a metallic fabric, it’s as smooth and soft a cotton sateen as you might imagine. The reflective quality of the outer surface is solely due to the fine satin weave and the quality of the cotton thread used.
Our soft bronze stretch cotton sateen fabric is a finely-woven, medium-to-lighter-weight sateen, pliable and with excellent opacity for its weight. It has a crisp yet decisively-folding movement which holds a pleat and a shape gently but well, as you can see from this video.
There’s a warmth to the metallic sheen of our soft bronze stretch cotton sateen fabric; one which makes it ideal for pairing with hot summer brights. Yet the smooth lustre of its surface also means that it has a calm, serene quality, perfect for accompanying pastels or cool summer whites. It’s a shade of metallic bronze that reflects the quality of the surrounding light so if you’re matching then you might want to request a free sample. Our images, although carefully colour-balanced, will be affected to some degree by the light in our studio.
You’ll find it a fabulous option for cropped summer trousers as well as evening suits – surely not a breadth of application that many fabrics can boast. We’re of a mind to put it together with a crisp white cotton shirt and box-fresh soft white plimsolls – either as a long yet tapered pencil skirt or as a pair of tailored cropped trousers. In which case we’d be inclined to give the ‘Zoe’ pencil skirt from Style Arc a try.
It has some clever darting that we think would prevent this skirt from becoming too voluminous. We might even add some length but adjust it to accommodate a rear vent or kick pleat.
