Our lilac satin-backed crepe fabric is is a beautiful-quality polyester crepe with a distinctive satin reverse. It can be used with either side as the right side – or even using both sides as a form of contrast within the same garment. It has the weight of a heavier dress fabric or a medium-weight suiting depending on your perspective.
What does this fabric feel like?
The face of our lilac pink satin-backed crepe fabric has a clearly-discernible but typically refined crepe finish which has a rounded texture without any sense of roughness. It’s is backed with a gleaming matt satin finish offering a myriad of silvered pink tones which is smooth and fluid to the touch. It is comfortable to wear and soft next to the skin.
How does this fabric move?

Will I need to line this fabric?
These satin-backed crepe fabrics have excellent opacity for their weight. A top, dress or tunic wouldn’t need lining although you may wish to do so if your pattern requires a close fit or structure. The satin reverse means that it moves freely against the body although you might wish to opt for a half-slip for added ease of movement or if you’re using the crepe face on the inside.
