Our hearts were captured by the bronze ginkgo leaves on this bronze and turquoise printed viscose jersey fabric. Together with the shaded aquamarine flowers and leaves they pop out from the black background of this fluid jersey; we can almost see them fluttering on the ends of their delicate stalks.
This beautiful bronze and turquoise printed viscose jersey fabric leans towards a lighter-weight jersey and is a fine knit quality. As you’d expect, it is quite happy to be gathered and ruched without adding excessive bulk. Our turquoise printed viscose jersey fabric moves and drapes with a bounce and a lovely drape as you can see from this video.
Although this isn’t the heaviest jersey ever, it’s far from being an insubstantial fabric and is well able to cope with more than simply tops. Our bronze and turquoise printed viscose jersey fabric has good opacity for its weight and although a dress might need a half-slip or a lining for modesty and free movement against the body, a top or tunic would work well in its own right with no concern for decency. It has some mechanical stretch down its length and about 20% spandex-assisted stretch-and-return across its width.
Tops, tunics and dresses are all options then – and we’d be also be tempted to play with the ability of this fabric to stretch, ruche, drape and move. With an eye to layering however, we’d be tempted to wear our bronze and turquoise printed viscose jersey fabric as a tunic using a design such as this ‘Kim’ Swing Top from Style Arc.
We’ve made this pattern up many a time in ClothSpot; it’s definitely achieved ‘Tried ‘n’ Tested’ status in our book.
