Sometimes fabrics don’t shout – they wait quietly, patiently for you to pause, feel and consider. This soft almond Tencel lawn fabric is one of those. If your wardrobe enjoys neutrals; ivory, stone or white against a backdrop of navy, black and camel, then this is a fabric you’ll appreciate. Shirts, simple floating tops, lingerie and robes – all of those are going to be options for this lightweight, understated fabric.

What does this fabric feel like?
Our soft almond Tencel lawn fabric has a particularly soft, gentle handle. It will be cool and very comfortable next to the skin; this, combined with its stretch capacity also means it will make an excellent breathable lining for dresses and tops.
How does this fabric move?
This is a fabric with a soft, wafting drape. The stretch capacity is around the 10% mark. You can see how it moves and stretches in this video.
NOTE: Our videos are intended to show the movement of a fabric. For accurate colour and pattern detail, please refer to our still images.
Will I need to line this fabric?
The weave of this fabric is plain and fairly close, with opacity that is better than a semi-sheer, meaning that an unlined blouse will simply need attention to undergarments; a bra that contrasts with your skin colour will most likely be spotted and a silhouette may be visible against the sun.
What can I make with this fabric?
We think our simple soft almond Tencel lawn fabric will be perfect for summer tops and blouses, as well as lingerie and soft, cool linings. If you’re looking for a simple robe design, then the ‘Sylvia’ Robe from Sew Over It has multiple length options.
