We wouldn’t be without our linings. We see them as a way to bring a garment to life and set it aside from the mainstream. You can carefully tailor a classic jacket to meet all sorts of formal constraints but then fit a thoroughly anarchic or flamboyant lining just to celebrate being you. Which we suggest you do, at all opportunities. This deep plum viscose-acetate lining fabric is a lovely shade that works beautifully as a toning selection for all kinds of wine and purple shades – as well as bringing a sense of depth to silver greys and neutrals.
What kind of fabric is this?
Our deep plum viscose-acetate lining fabric is a blend of viscose with acetate. It’s a light-to-medium-weight lining, appropriate for skirts, dresses and half-lined trousers; also lighter-weight jackets and coats. If you’re in any doubt about the suitability of this lining for your garment then as always, just drop us a line to discuss or to ask for a free sample.
What does this fabric feel like?
This is a lining with a smooth, crisp handle. It will be comfortable and breathable next to the skin.
How does this fabric move?
This deep plum viscose-acetate lining fabric has an elegant ripple and falls into folds. It isn’t a fluid fabric; it holds a little shape but neither is it a stiff fabric to work with by any means.
65% viscose, 35% acetate
Lined garments should be dry- or spot-cleaned since the outer garment fabric may respond differently to washing. See our Fabric care pages for more information.
