This ivory and chocolate checked wool mix fabric is a real winter staple. Enough body to be used as a coating, but not so thick that it can’t also play its part in warm woollen separates – trousers included.
This is a well-behaved fabric – we think it’s a very easy one to work with. It has a fairly flat weave but holds its shape and structure well. We know it has a good proportion of wool in the composition and that it has a wonderfully-soft handle. However we can’t confirm the precise composition or tell you what fibres are mixed in with the wool. Our ivory and chocolate checked wool mix fabric is a medium weight plaid fabric – not the heaviest in the world but nicely opaque for its weight and perfectly able to hold its own in the autumn and beyond. No – it’s not a depths-of-winter coating by any means. However a nicely-lined above-the-knee skirt, a tunic or vintage-styled jacket will allow you to combine warmth with style and versatility.
This isn’t a flowing fabric – the weave is a little too substantial for that – however when we’ve work with longer metreages it moves, folds and hangs very nicely, as we hope you can see from our images. The colours in this ivory and chocolate checked wool mix fabric lend themselves very well to autumnal classics. The shade of brown here is a rich one, resulting from different colours of brown woven into the fabric. There’s an auburn-chestnut fibre providing the highlights for a dominant classic milk-chocolate brown. This complex combination of browns works wonderfully with glowing teals and cyan blues we think – as well as understated creams and ivories.
This comfortable and classic chocolate checked wool mix fabric is 150cm wide – a vintage-styled vision in every metre.
