We all love our doubleknit jersey fabrics, especially between seasons as they’re so versatile. However they can vary enormously, as we’ve explained on previous occasions. Consequently, we’re reluctant to lump them together and simply cite different colours unless they’re very similar cloths. Our navy blue ponte Roma jersey fabric is another lovely doubleknit with a soft handle and an elegant drape. It’s a medium-weight ponte roma with a smooth handle and a lovely drape as you can see from this video.
As shades of navy blue go, this one is very softly muted and lies around the middle of the light-to-dark spectrum of colour depth. If you’re matching, then as ever, please just ask us for a free sample – we’d rather you checked your colours than risk disappointment.
We think our navy blue ponte Roma jersey fabric will find a favourite place in many a wardrobe. It has a good spring-back from its spandex content which is largely across the width of the fabric. It holds its shape well. Skirts, dresses and draping layers are all possibilities, as well as tops, tunics, wraps and loungewear. We also think it might be up for a spot of legging as well as layering, if you’re that way inclined.
There are lots of patterns available for working with ponte Roma jersey fabrics. They’ll either suggest ponte Roma jersey fabric – or a ‘medium-weight doubleknit fabric with a little stretch’ for instance. We know that this simple ‘Kristin’ dress from Style Arc patterns is a popular choice – either use it in its own right as a dress or as part of a layered ensemble.
