In a season defined by wild colour combinations and extreme colour blocking, it’s refreshing to see a printed pattern on a fabric – particularly one that isn’t a floral (much as we love them…). We think this bright pink geometric stretch cotton fabric will refresh your palate nicely. It reminds us very much of prints such as this one from the Summer 2017 collection at Cos.
With a lovely crisp handle, this bright pink geometric stretch cotton fabric has very good opacity for the medium-weight fabric that it is. The spandex component in its composition provides it with a stretch across the width of the fabric that we would say adds up to a comfortable ease, rather than a particularly dramatic stretch capacity. This means that when this white and pink geometric stretch fabric drapes and hangs, you wouldn’t know that it was a stretch fabric since it behaves just as a 100% cotton fabric might. That said, this is a crisp fabric that holds a shape well – and you can see how it does so in this short video clip.
Even the white areas of this vibrant pink geometric stretch cotton fabric have good opacity. We would say that as a summer top or frock a lining isn’t essential; it’s a fabric that would be fabulous as a simple shirt or boat-necked top, a fitted 50s-style dress or a semi fitted simple shift dress too. Summer skirts and even a perky pair of holiday cropped trousers would also be options. It presses like a dream and is very easy to handle.
However if you decide to go for the skirt option then might we suggest that the ‘Eleonora’ pattern from Named Clothing would make good use of its crispness.
In our images we’ve teamed it with our ‘Classic crisp white cotton mix shirting fabric’. It’s an obvious choice but no less effective for that fact.
