We’re firmly into ‘relaxed summer’ territory with this classic navy blue striped viscose chambray fabric. We love the rich indigo blue of the weft threads, woven in a timeless chambray stripe.
What really sets this navy blue striped viscose chambray fabric aside, is its weight and drape. This is a fabric that is just waiting to have a salty breeze blown through it – and as you can see from this video, this is a fabric that simply comes to life when it moves.
Our navy blue striped viscose chambray fabric is not one that you’re likely to dress up – however it will bring instant class to the simplest of designs. Shirts and tops will be easy to make and even easier to wear. Although this is a medium-to-lighter weight dress fabric (or a medium-weight shirting as you wish) it has good opacity for its weight, a soft handle and of course, that fabulous drape.
As we’ve wandered through the high street over recent weeks we’ve seen lots of simple summer tunics such as this one from Whistles.
You might already have your personal favourite summer tunic pattern – we’re itching to try the Autumn Dress Pattern from Style Arc. We love the relaxed collared opening and the pleat at the back which we think will fit the qualities of our our navy blue striped viscose chambray fabric perfectly.
If we could, then we’d supply you with sand dunes, a sea breeze, a shady hat and a view to the lighthouse – however there are some things that we’re just going to have to leave to you…
Wash at 30 or 40 degrees – see our Fabric care pages for more information.
