Hold onto your horses people – this one’s a bit of a statement! But oh – what a statement. A fiery abstract floral print that looks like lily pads floating on a flood of lava. Wear it in its own right to bring a golden glow to our autumn wardrobe – or wear it under green, a rust or rich brown to provide a pop of colour.
Our green and gold viscose jersey fabric is a beautifully-draping medium-weight single knit fabric with a very soft, handle and good opacity for its weight. The knit is a relatively fine one – and as you can see from our image it’s a fabric happy to be gathered and ruched without adding excessive bulk. Having said that, it’s not fabric without substance once you’re holding a metre or two. It has a lovely swing to its movement as well as good stretch-and-return (helped with 5% spandex) as you can see in this video.
Tops, tunics and dresses will all be options – although the latter will need a lining or slip to enable it to hang and move well against the body. We’d be tempted to play with the ability of this fabric to stretch, ruch, drape and move. However given the nature of this print you could also opt for a simple design that provided for maximum impact of the colour and pattern. We think our extraordinary green and gold viscose jersey fabric would be wonderful in a design such as this ‘Kim’ Swing Top from Style Arc.
This is a tunic that you could layer under a block of colour – perhaps our ‘Capsicum’ double-sided spice-red faux suede fabric or our ‘Delancey’ olive brown ponte Roma jersey fabric, both of which work wonderfully (we think!) with this printed gold viscose jersey fabric.
