The second (and final!) colourway of our cosiest-of-cosy wool fabrics, our tawny-brown knitted bouclé fabric is the sister of our ‘Cobnut’ cosy textured teal knitted bouclé fabric. for those of you still fighting over the central heating thermostat, we offer you a solution that will wrap you up warm all winter.
Our tawny-brown teal bouclé fabric is a beautifully rich, warm and soft shade of brown. It will look fabulous with creams and ivories for those who enjoy a classic neutral palette. You can also team it with all those autumnal earth colours we love so much. We can imagine it as a casual flowing jacket or ‘coatigan’ – either with or without a lining. It’s not a double-sided fabric as you will see from the video – however you could back it with a ponte Roma jersey fabric or simply finish the edges nicely and wear it as a single layer.
This is a fabric which drapes very nicely as its title suggests, but not so much as to be unruly. It’s definitely a fabric for layering on the top half – we don’t think this is a fabric for dresses, skirts or trousers (but do let us know if you disagree!). It has some stretch across the width as you can see in this video – but only the amount you need for a comfortable fit or some negative-ease wrapping.
We can’t confirm the composition of this fabric, but we understand it has a high wool content, with spandex and possibly a blend of other yarns. Although our tawny-brown knitted bouclé fabric is highly textured in its construction – it isn’t in the least scratchy.
As far as pattern ideas are concerned, we suggest you click on over to our ‘Coatigans’ Pinterest board, where there’s plenty to snuggle up to.
A blend of wool, spandex and other unknown fibres.
