One stroke and we swooned. This delightful wool and cashmere camel melton fabric has the most luxurious, almost silky, slightly napped finish that you could possibly imagine in a wool fabric. If you’re looking for your classic camel coat, then stop right here – you’re home.
We could only find a small length of this wool and cashmere camel melton fabric and even before we’ve posted it, one savvy customer has snaffled a length as a result of a nicely-timed query. There’s no more to be had once this has gone – and we’re so sorry for that.
The construction of this wool and cashmere camel melton fabric makes it easy to work. Dense and opaque as you’d expect from a medium-weight melton fabric, this is a pliable yet stable fabric with a sense of movement and folding drape as you can see in this video.
We suspect that our wool and cashmere camel melton fabric would make a winter coat that would cope with almost anything you could throw at it on the weather front – depending on the weight of the lining you used. However as it’s not a weighty fabric in itself we suspect that it would also make for a delightfully-stylish jacket or skirt suit that would work season after season. We’re not entirely convinced about using it for trousers – you’d have to know that you were in for a cold winter – however it would certainly be comfortable enough due to the beautiful finish. We’ve photographed it with our ‘Easton’ autumn-printed navy blue viscose fabric since the golds in that print pick up the warmth of this classic camel fabric.
On the pattern front, we hear that a number of you are eyeing up the Tessuti ‘Oslo’ coat pattern. Far be it from us to discourage such fabulousness – we think our wool and cashmere camel melton fabric would be perfect for the job. You could look forward to a very elegant winter.
